During the Easter Break, I visited family in Amsterdam. As it turned out it was one of the hottest Easter breaks on record, so according to local fashion we relocated to the beach on a daily basis to escape the heat!
One morning I also managed to squeeze in a trip to Keukenhof, AKA Disneyland for tulips, which is a 40 minute bus ride from the centre of Amsterdam. Keukenhof is only open for 8 weeks a year, and as you may have guessed the combination of Easter bank holiday and the good weather meant it was well worth getting there as early as possible to try and avoid some of the crowds. In fact it got so busy there were signs on the roads leading to the place telling tourists not to visit by the middle of the day!
Thankfully I managed to see most of it before every tourist in Holland arrived!
