Finally got around to splashing out on the Olympus M.Zuiko 45mm 1:1.8 lens. To test it out I've been following my cats around the garden. This has been made easier as one of them is still recovering from a broken elbow and hip.My Dad also helped out by posing!

Trentham Fairies Pt2
After being sent some inspirational photos from a friend of mine taken of the Trentham fairies, I decided to go back with my camera firmly in monochrome mode to try and get some more photos. I even managed to find a couple of the ones I'd missed previously, though one is still eluding me! (Excuse for another trip!)

Lago Maggiore
Well there's been a bit of a hiatus, my camera has had to take a back seat as life has taken over. (full time work does somewhat limit my free time.)
That said recently I headed off to Lago Maggiore in Italy on my annual flat 6 reunion. Whilst primarily a chance to meet up with old friends, it also meant I spent 2 days in the beautiful Italian lakes. The weather may have left a little to be desired, but lakes and mountains are breathtaking regardless of the weather.

Sun-Kissed Cats
Over recent week, my general enthusiasm for taking photographs has taken a bit of a dip. The recent flooding hasn't encouraged my leaving the house, nor has my financial status. However a few weeks ago i came across the following set of photographs taken by Seiji Mamiya, a Japanese photographer. http://www.boredpanda.org/japanese-photographer-takes-beautiful-sun-kissed-photos-of-cats/
As most of my friends are aware, my parents have acquired 2 new rescue cats, and that they have become my greatest source of entertainment. (Mostly good, but when frogs are involved not so good!) Therefore on a rare sunny spring day i charged up my camera, inspired by the work of Seiji, and decided to follow my cats on their daily patrol of the garden.
The following photographs are some of the better results.

Silhouette
For once both my cat and the light was right to take a shot I've been after for a while. Granted it would have been better if I could have got my dslr up and running in time but beggars can't be choosers!

Berlin
A little bit late in posting, but earlier this year I took a trip to
Berlin, essentially I was there to visit a very good friend of mine and
to see a certain Mr Buble in concert, I did make time to take some
photos in an attempt to capture the feeling of the city. Since it was -5
Celsius with biting winds and snow underfoot, time was of an essence.
That said with relatively minor adjustments the photos produced helped
me capture the feel of the city without the need for classic tourist
landmarks in every shot!
